Were there any recorded incidents of "friendly-fire" between Soviet and the Western Allies Air Forces? Thinking of the situation over German air-space in April 1945 there must have been some perhaps?
Don't know about air-forces but the white band painted around and over the top of the turrets (later replaced with triangles on the roof) of Soviet tanks around Berlin was a recognition feature for cutting down on the potential for friendly fire from the air. Seems likely there were incidents that triggered that?
As you know I've been reading Wing Leader by Johnnie Johnson. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/books-movies/8365-%22wing-leader%22-je-johnson.html Pages 304 & 305 he describes a flight near Berlin where he mets the Red Air Force.
