    Hi everyone,
The name's Albert and I'm from the Netherlands. Came across this forum looking for some answers regarding my mother, who received an American Motherday item after her town got liberated. Found it only recently in her belongings by accident, she passed away over 10 years ago. (Attached a picture of it)

As you can see, it was not given by an American soldier, but by a Canadian one. Must have been her "boyfriend", looking at the two x"s at the bottom!
I would like to know more about this guy, but I get stuck looking for his name. He's not KIA, no trace of him in the records. When I go to the site of the Canadian Military Heritage, I can't fill out the form to get his service-record, because all I got is his name and servicenumber. DOB is required also.

    Anyone any ideas on this?
    Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard Albert. I’m guessing we must be almost the same age, given your user name. 1960 was a very good year!

What a great keepsake you have there.

You may want to start a new thread in the “Searching for Someone“ section here:

Searching for Someone & Military Genealogy

I’m sure some of our Canadian chums will be along very shortly to help you in your search, they’re a great lot (I have membership of Ancestry but, sadly, not an international one).

    Good luck in your endeavours.

Hi Albert, welcome to the forum!

I'm Canadian but I am not experienced at looking up soldiers' information, sorry. :( His name sounds Québecois to me.

There is no record of a Clement Robillard in the Ancestry.ca military database. Given that he provided a keepsake which originated in the U.S., he may have been an American citizen serving in the Canadian Army. There was extensive emigration of French-Canadians to the New England states prior to WW2 so that is an avenue to explore.
