I saw some of the clips on telly and it is original B/W footage colourised. Some of the scenes I know by heart and I think this footage is going to cause untold problems when it starts being posted to settle arguments about German tank cammo schemes.

I quite agree. Period colourised has a charm of its own but the recently done stuff is simply to make the original more acceptable to a modern audience and it is akin to altering history.

I bought a magazine with 'Blitzkrieg' DVD and there is some really poorly done phoney war colourising stuff on it, together with a completely erroneous modern commentary. The scenes are so well known that this can only have been deliberate and done for dramatic effect.

Far better to look at the nice sharp B/W images on 'The World at War' than be seduced by colour.
