Drew - can you buy two copies - and send me the extra DVD's - I'll pay the postage to Canada ! Cheers
Thanks for the heads-up. I went and bought 'Dambusters' a few months ago, damn. Would be nice to get 'Charlotte Grey' eventhough it's not looked on in very high regard in amongst SOE circles so I've read.
I'm not planing on buying one (I have most of the films) Tom but if you want me to collect all 14 for you and send them out in one hit I'd be happy too. I think if I read the TV advert correctly its 2 films every week- Sat and Sun. Let me know Tom or Paul if you prefer Cheers Andy
If Andy can't do it Tom, I would be happy to as I am going into town tomorrow. One for me too, please. Thanks. phil
lol...I've really started something now Can I point out that they'll probably be European region DVD's so do you have a multi region DVD player? I'm happy as said to buy shed loads so place your orders below (I can't believe I'm buying Daily Mails!) Cheers Andy
There seems to be enough conversation on the techy side of things to suggest that this is not a major issue. Maybe I am naive. Let's get it here and then sort it out. One of the lads from town here, the late Dave Rodger, DFC was a member of 617. He flew in U for Uniform according to my notes. Dave was a great fellow and served our Legion ably and well. I enjoyed time spent with him. RIP. This is a tech site that supposedly has the necessary fixes. videohelp.com has alot of tools and tutorials Thanks Andy, phil
I rememeber having a non related 'Uncle' you know the ones-friends of the family but not related that you call uncle when growing up. Anyway he lived on the same street in London as my family and i recall my Dad saying he was a tail gunner on Lancs and flew with 617 on the dam raids. I wish I could have spoken to him. I expect he's passed away now. Any way no worries Phil. Just to confirm do you want all 14 films? Cheers Andy
I thought the world should know that Drew's a Mail reader so I told his motorcycle mates ! (Sadly the link won't work if you're not registered there). 2wat.org.uk • Login ...Sorry Andy
All DVD players are multi-region, no matter what it says on the box. You just need the unlock code to get it to work. I've done it with all mine. See: Free DVD Unlocking Codes: Make DVD players multi-region & get cheaper discs.... and: DVD Player and Blu-ray Player region codes Don't blame me if you blow your box up, though!
Mines Multi Region-I had it done in the Sony store when I bought it. Like MC I am useless at anything blokey, decorating, DIY, Mechanics-I think I used to be female in a past life Cheers Andrea x
Great offer - have to confess that I've only heard of a few of these films before though. Ice Cold in Alex, have to get! WORTH WAITING FOR!!!
go for all 14, Andy. Thanks. One post is good. When the game's up, PM me and I will send you my co-ordinates. cheers. phil
Like MC I am useless at anything blokey, decorating, DIY, Mechanics-I think I used to be female in a past life Cheers Andrea x At the risk of offending the hand that feeds you, Andrea, I am quite capable at decorating, DIY, some mechanics and what the hell is blokey stuff. And when my engineering skills fail me, I know teenagers who can do the blokey pokey and not fry themselves.
Drew and Paul - Hadn't thought of the European set up on your DVD - the conversion rate over here is just not worth the cost as for just ONE VHS cost in the region of $100o ( 50 odd GBP) - so i shall retract my siggestion of having them mailed to me an wait for the media over her to catch - if ever ! Thanks all the same - it was a good idea at the time ! Cheers
Tom - see my post above about multi-region DVD players. You don't need one and don't need anything converted.
I'll check in, in the morning to see if anyone else wishes to place a order who isn't in the UK.....I saw the advert again tonight and the promotion runs for 2 weeks Cheers Andy
