I've got some left over Airfix models from an old D-Day box set that I'll never get round to building and thought I'd ask you guys if anyone wants them? They're all 1:72 scale with packaging and instructions: 88mm Gun & tractor (looks more like a half track to me) G.M.C CCKW 353 L.C.V.P Higgins boat G.M.C. DUKW 353 4 packs of soldiers (2x German & 2x Allies) 1 pack per person unless they no-one wants em. 1st come 1st served. PM me your address an I'll get 'em posted in the next few days. P.s. ( The first person to reply gets a pack of paints and a brush too) Whoo hoo!!! Cheers, Marcus
Marcus, you don't have Humbrol 34, 81, 89, 99 or 196 do you ? ...Not for a model but for formation signs on the real thing ! Rich
Hi Rich. Sounds interesting. What you working on? Of the list you mentioned I've got a 34. (cream/white)? They're only small tubs mind and some of the numbers have rubbed off the lids, but from what I can work out there's: 93 127 103 34 12 30 33 91 113 102 63 86 53 I'll send you the lot if you want?
Cheers for the guys who requested them off me. Better than throwing them away (although after watching James May, I wish I had built them) Anyway, found the Coastal Defence Fort I got with the box set, and before it gets binned I thought I'd ask again. It's already built which is why I didn't offer it before. Still needs painting though.
I have a .22 pellet stash just waiting for such an occasion oh and a tube of hair laquer..a metal coal shovell with handle for home made banger mortar.. I suppose that precludes me then...
Urgh dont forget the small tubes of petrol and fireworks and then the old jetex motors those were the days regards Clive
ahh the smell of burning airfix in the morning... we are amongst brothers....pass us the firelighters ....
Ha ! I nearly burnt my London house to the ground setting fire to plastic models in the loft when I was a child
and yes a rocket attached to an airfix lancaster tied to the cherry tree which caught fire or the tips of swan vestas matches packed into into the back of a tate and lyle matchbox toy tanker set off by the aforementioned jetex fuse wire. and i told my kids to be sensible and careful
Andy Ha ! I nearly burnt my London house to the ground setting fire to plastic models in the loft when I was a child I bet the fire brigade just loved you !!!
They weren't called mate but my Dad kicked my ass when he stuck his head through the loft to see it full of smoke !
and then we joined up...got a light corporal?? you gotta love a country that gives its trainee arsonists whopping bigger toys to play with..drew is doing the paramedic bit as a pennance...
but it just seemed so right just dont get me started on ronson tinned lighter fuel squeeze the can, apply a spark a crocodile if there ever was one
talking of destroying things..my son today at uni told me his i/t techi on radio informed him he knew me from forces days..apparantly one of my bangs at uxbridge is legendary..well now i have some explainin to do to a son who thinks his dad was the quit sort..
Ha ! I nearly burnt my London house to the ground setting fire to plastic models in the loft when I was a child But did that Airfix plastic stink when burnt! I'm not totally innocent, I remember having built and then blasted with an airgun a StuG and a Churchill. I never understood what was wrong with those models, the tracks wouldn't roll
and the ships didnt float in the bath I well remember my brothers face when he discovered me pushing his hms victory with all its meticulously stretched rigging along the bath .. no sense of humour.
