www.durhamrecordsoffice.org.uk Ref. D/DL17. May be of help to members. Came across when searching other records. Veronica.
Hi, Only their catalogue is free to browse. You can attend and view but you need an appointment and whilst for a fee of Ten pounds you can in theory use a digital camera in reality they will not let you use it on the DLI records. They will charge £7 plus for each photo request and 50p a sheet for photo copying .Micro Fiche copying machine is also 50p per page. The DRO will like the Museum be looking for a new home if the Labour council plans for a move to a more modern purpose built building are approved. They made such a song and dance about going online but the result in practice was very disappointing http://www.durhamrecordoffice.org.uk/Pages/AdvancedSearchCatalogue.aspx Kyle
Well that's told me then. Only my good intention. Must try harder. Check before you post, then, re. check.Veronica.
Many catalogue indexes of museums / archives are online which can be very useful and cut down research time.
