    Hello all,

I'm offering free photo restoration for a short while. I've got a little business that is getting off the ground, and am looking for more work to place in my portfolio.

If you've got a tatty old picture that could do with some digital renovation then give me a try it won't cost you a penny.

    Hi Roger

I'm not sure if it can be restored, but I have a very old photo of one of my ancestors from around 1820-1830. The quality is quite poor after all these years. If you are able to help I would appreciate it.

    Hi Roger,

Could do something with these two? I'm guessing you need the originals, which is no problem. The group photo is quite small, probably 3 inches by 2 inches.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Roger, thank you for the very generous offer to forum members - I hope you are not overwhelmed by the response!
I have a picture I would like you to take a look at please - first pic is a photo of the picture in frame, second is the pic removed from frame and scanned at 300dpi. I might be able to get a better resolution scan possibly up to several thousand dpi in the next couple of days. What do you think?

Hi Mike L - It's definitely a white christmas for me, as i'm snowed under by all the responses. Thank you to everyone who's expressed an interest via private messages. Everything is going well, and two photos are completed. I'll post the results soon.

Mike L, send over your scan, 300/400 dpi is sufficient. Anything above 400dpi is only adding to the filesize.

    Congrats with this fantastic result.
Just out of interest: the beret badge is just a little to far right. In what Regiment was your Granddad? (sorry for not knowing his full name)
