Norman Snelson flew Typhoons with 184 Squadron. The very limited information I have on him comes from the London Gazette. I have seen a reference on the 184 Squadron web site to a forced landing in August 1944 and a report in Flight Magazine of July 1945 of him being reported missing. I have also heard that he was shot down twice and taken prisoner of war and then escaped on both occasions although I have seen no record to substantiate this. I cant see mention of him in 'RAF Evaders' by Oliver Clutton Brock. He survived the war.

Can anyone tell me any more about his imprisonment, escape and evasion?

I am hoping that there may be someone who reads the 'Prisoner of War' threads but not the 'War in the Air' may have information. I have started with what seems the most likely source - 'RAF Evaders' by Oliver Clutton-Bock but no mention there.
