    Hi All

I am researching the names on the Burringham/Gunness War Memorial and came upon the following event.

On 12 May 1941, four men died at the Nitrogen Fertilizers Company in Flixborough:

Charles Arrand - Home Guard - named on War Memorial
    Robert Markham
    William Pearson
    Alfred Twizell

I cannot find out what happened on this day and I was hoping that someone can help fill in the details.

    Thanks and Regards

    John

    Hi John
The best place to try is Scunthorpe Library. Try to find the local newspapers for that day because I am sure it must have been reported.

    Hi Lesley
Closest I came to any incident in the right area was a JU88 shot down close to Scampton, Lincolnshire on 12 May 1941 - nothing else, seems the incident I am looking for may have been missed?
Unless my old eyes just didn't see a reference to Flixborough.
    Regards
    John
