I came across this by accident and now im racking my brains, if I ever saw it Pastscape - Detailed Result: MONUMENT NO. 1428419 as it has been demolised to make way for the new housing estate that is being built.Found this pic and all becomes clear I remember seeing it from the road never realised just what it was though! Hi Jason, That used to stand where the new road has been built going up to the Mall,just below where the old WW2 hanger is situated, it was an emergency control tower which was placed on the Flax Tower pier after the war. What will be interesting is what BAC are going to do with the air raid shelters along the A38.
