Technically, there are 4 Nimitz class carriers and 1 Enterprise Class Carrier. Don't know for other four but USS Enterprise is waiting its decommission.

Thanks for the additional information. Please 'ramble' some more! It's very good information from a vet. Reaper was converted to the SS South African Star in 1948 and was scrapped in 1967. Patroller was converted to the SS Almkerk in 1947 and was scrapped in 1974. There is some information about the conversions at the bottom of the web pages below. hy dave55,just looking at your postings re;carriers.and new input re; h.m.s patroler on the escort page you show,i am actualy back on your page.to ask you if you can locate the aquatania,s 1946 voyage from halifax.canada,to u,k.when we left the reaper in the hands of the u.s we went by train to halifax.i think i told you this before,i would like to find out about that voyage.we had a heap of german prisoners of war .being repatrited.to germany via the uk.mostly oficers from every outfit in the german armed forces,it woud be interesting to know what happened to them.have a good day bernard85.
