    hy slipdigit.i read your message.9.feb.05;10p.m correct me if im rong.you refer to mr.bernard having seen a u.s.a carrier in N.Y.sorry i did not mention that at any time.i did say i saw the damaged carriers in pearl harbour.during the war. of course you may be refering to a diferent bernard.i just thought it may have been me?no offence intended.have a good one bernar85

    It was you that I was referring to. I did not fully understand your post and thought you had said you had seen a badly damaged carrier in New York. Thanks for straightening me out.

    Technically, there are 4 Nimitz class carriers and 1 Enterprise Class Carrier. Don't know for other four but USS Enterprise is waiting its decommission.

    Please 'ramble' some more! It's very good information from a vet.

    Reaper was converted to the SS South African Star in 1948 and was scrapped in 1967.

    Patroller was converted to the SS Almkerk in 1947 and was scrapped in 1974.

    hy dave55,just looking at your postings re;carriers.and new input re; h.m.s patroler on the escort page you show,i am actualy back on your page.to ask you if you can locate the aquatania,s 1946 voyage from halifax.canada,to u,k.when we left the reaper in the hands of the u.s we went by train to halifax.i think i told you this before,i would like to find out about that voyage.we had a heap of german prisoners of war .being repatrited.to germany via the uk.mostly oficers from every outfit in the german armed forces,it woud be interesting to know what happened to them.have a good day bernard85.
