Is anyone visiting firepower, research and reading rooms soon?
I need one document copied and it would take a full day, not to mention huge expense, to travel down to London to do it myself.
If anyone is going, could they copy the document for me, I'd cover all costs and buy a pint or two as thanks.
    plz pvt message me
    cheers

I have no plans, but do it quickly. Closure date set for end next year. No news of relocation of the archives - if they are relocated.

I knew about teh closer, I worry about teh archive. If I can't find anyone here I'll either wait till my next London trip or make a special visit. Just train, tube etc, it;s a costly thing. thanks for your message

I was going to donate several hundred Artillery War diaries to them including every artillery diary that was in France during 1940 - Apparently they have them all already which I know they don't. If they haven't got anywhere for their archives to go they should donate it to someone else.

Chris - I believe one of the forum members on here works there or has something to do with the place, I can't remember his name though. Failing that I'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out.

    Good luck
    Andy

If you can specify the document then for a fee the librarian there will probably do it for you.

Re relocation, a small heritage presence will be maintained in Woolwich. The museum board is in the final stages of considering options for relocating the main collection, a proposal is expected to be put to the Master Gunner later this year. The main museum will close Dec 2016.
