Trying to find some or any information about my dad’s war service record. He was posted up to RAF Skaw, on the island of Unst, Shetland Islands in 1941, moved round and was in the RAF Regiment by 1944 maybe? and across in Norway 1945, Oslo and Kristiansand or Kristiansand. His name Hugh McMeechan DOB 02/05/22 and service number 1554227. He survived the war but died in his 60s, before I realised that I had never really asked about his time in the forces during WW2. It would be nice to have something with dates etc just filling in the blanks of what he did and where he was. I subscribed to Forces War Records which was a complete waste of money as they turned up absolutely nothing - thankful it was only for a month. Hoping someone on here can help. Thanks John
