    God no.
I forgot my bicycle clips.

Search index rebuilding. Will see if ladida bit works after that, if not it's over to Otto and we;ll still have the quite passable standard search.

    Hello dbf
I have just started an album and find that there is another album appeared on my list "Tunis May 1943". Where has this come?

Hi Heather, I looked up your albums via your profile page and only one is showing... If you go to Gallery and click on Your Albums, what do you see?

    Hi dbf.
The album only appears when I click "add new media" and get 2 albums to choose from - mine and Tunis May 1943.

Ah, I see now what's up. You have access to an album started by someone else.

XF software allows album owners the option to allow others to upload images to albums started by them. This would be quite handy if several members wanted to post photos of e.g. a visit to Bovington. Rather than have several albums of the same name there'd be one. Each image should still be credited to the person who uploaded it.

    Tunis, May 1943 | WW2Talk
The album "Tunis May 1943" was started by me and when we moved to XF software I changed some preferences on my albums to test the options out. So as I've allowed others to add images to that, it will appear as an option for you when uploading.

(Might have to discuss this permission setting with the other mods, as the drop-down menu could get very cluttered if everyone opted to open their albums the way I did that one.)

    Hi dbf,
Thank you. Thought it was something I had done, not being very proficient on the computer.

I am computer illiterate and dont comprehend most advice as even the terms mean nothing but I dont want to start a new thread if one already exists

So is there somewhere I can type in key words or a title to see if the subject is/was already up and running at some point?

I just dont want to search 93 pages of thread titles every time I think of something

Just posted a quote reply by accident

I looked and looked and saw nothing

But I pressed a little pale blue? button and suddenly the search box appeared

I had no idea the little button did anything and wouldnt have touched anything without knowing what I might do or how to reverse it

I was starting to fear I would have to report myself as unsafe to drive as I could see nothing like a search box

I only had a tiny blue button showing and having peered at everything desperately unable to see the search box you showed me, I finally pressed the blue button in extremis and THEN the box appeared

And meanwhile I have a freshly caught feral kitten climbing over me and trying to hang off the phone but the good thing is I have a purr so this one is taming fast Only 4 more to go...

I was just about to turn in my license as I was clearly blind but in desperation I pressed a tiny blue button and the search box appeared Maybe if you view on phone the search box becomes a tiny blue button to take up less space? Its just I didnt know and would never touch anything where I didnt know it's purpose or how one would reverse it

On the forum on my phone is a small magnifying glass icon, I click that & search box appears.

Thank you for adding to people who helped me I was just trying not to be the idiot that mods have to chase up and explain in smaller and smaller words, that I am too thick to post without being overseen by a responsible adult

You are right I had to make the little blue button bigger and then I saw it had a handle but if left to myself I would have presumed that was to increase the size of the writing on the page and I may never have investigated that - just ignored a little blue dot for years...

I just had a go and typed in the Welsh Great Escape and there seems to be nothing

    Would that be right?

I think it was the title of one of my favorite documentaries of all time

About the German POWs that escaped a Welsh POW camp

    Magic
Blackadder meets Dads Army with a bit of Bertie Wooster thrown in
