Fighter Aircraft Collection magazine - anyone collecting this?

Just poped into the local co-op this lunch and saw issue 4 of Fighter Aircraft Collection magazine that comes with a reasonable sized "die cast" model of a Sea Harrier on the front.

The magazine looks very light weight but the model looked goos and certainly more for your money than the equivalent Corgi.

Just wondered if anyone was collecting this to see if my first impressions were right. £1.99 for a 1:72nd Spitfire aint bad, £3.99 for the Me 109 and £5.99 for everything else (Mustang, Harrier, Mig 15 Focker Tri-plane etc) here is the website if anyone is interested

The prices are also in Euros so I guess the post to mainland Europe as well (?)

Well I got the Spitfire in issue 1 from WH Smiths and planned to get the Hurricane when it appears. However my local Smiths dropped the title after the Bf 109 (issue 2 I think) and it hasn't been seen since. The Spitfire model is quite good and sits on my desk at work. However the under- sized pilot figure and serial number on the starboard side (which overlaps the squadron code) are annoying.

Same as Some Chicken says, i know people were a bit smaller or so they say then but, i think schoolchildren were probably not flying Spitfires :)

On the web site it talks about there being DVDs.. Is it that there is no real magazine but the whole thing is on DVD or something and hence the thin magazine like afair on the back of the model?

Glad these magazines are mentioned. The models are not at all shabby, really.

And I wrote the magazines for the Bf 109, P-51 and Zero. Now doing the Me 262.

    Hey there,

Of course I can keep you updated. I have just finished the Zero magazine (a tight deadline for me) and will start work on the Me 262. Think I have the Oscar next...
