    Field Regiments would have 25 Pdr.
    Anything bigger and they'd be Medium or Heavy Regiments.
    In 1940 some Field Rgts had 18Pdr on 25 Pdr carriage.

    Some Field Regiments were also SPs - eg my father's, 24th Field Regiment, had M7 Priests with 105mm. Other SP Field Regiments had Sextons wwith 25-pounders.

    Owen the 1940 18-pounders were on pneumatic tyres, not on a 25-pounder frame to my knowledge?

    Paul You are right. I'm getting confused as the early Mk I 25 Pdrs were called 18/25 pdrs. I thought I saw a photo the other day of a 18 Pdr on a 25 Pdr carriage but it wasn't. Memory playing up.The 18 pdrs with pneumatic tyres had split trails too.

    David , ignore me I talking rubbish.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

    Thanks Paul and Owen. I am interested in the 64th (in Oct 1943) and 65th (in March 1943) Field Regts. Do you know whether they were 25pdr or Sexton?
    Many thanks,
    David
