Dear All , I thought this may amuse and educate as to the standards set for modern hate speech ! Whilst adding a comment to the RAF Commands Forum CWCG database I accidentally clicked the link to add it to Facebook . It seems now that saying that an RAF AC1 died of natural causes in an RAF hospital in 1944 is confirmed as being against farcebook’s “ community standards “ !!!
This type of thing will happen more and more in this current over sensitive climate. I cannot say too much, but I have had to deal with this situation on several occasions this very week in the lead up to VJ Day.
Maybe FB believes "RAF" means "Rote Armee Fraktion"? Does the (British) RAF have its own FB page? If not, we now know why. Luckily "WW2" doesn't have a similar double meaning!
Like some sites that have over zealous checkers for certain words. There was a class of naval cannon once technically known as a bastard culverin but there was one history related site on which you couldn't refer to it. Another went so far as to automatically block Scunthorpe!
