Unfortunately we have an idiot in the forum. his username is 82ndUSAirborn44. He has been trying to pass himself off as a veteran of ww2 but he is in fact, did I say it, an idiot who knows as much about ww2 as he has common sense.

In fact here is a picture of the little weasel

Now I could post his full name, home address and everything else I know about him just to show him how silly he really is. But I wont.

Trying to pass yourself off as a veteran is just so wrong and a complete insult to every person that richly deserves that title.

Remember that everywhere you go on the internet is like leaving a footprint, every picture you post and every message you leave is all traceable.

    He wasn't fooling me!

I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to be rude (in the slight chance this was actually a veteran with bad grammar and such).

thanks for the input guys i remember jumping off that plane with the bullets hittng the bottom that was such an amazing experience

    rrrrrright.

as I was saying in the moderator forum

the term 'Veteran' is reserved only for those select individuals who very rightly deserve to hold that title, and it is a title, it means much more than an OBE, a Knighthood or anything else in my mind.

such a terrible diregard for people who actually had to do it, like morons who vandalize ww2 sites in normandy and other sites.

I'd actually mentioned my thoughts on this member on a couple of other threads. I think sombody trying to pass themselves off as a veteran is pretty low. Sapper on the other hand likened it to 'playing cowboys and indians'. So I suppose it's a question of perspective.

I think that his actions are shameful and destestable. He should be banned stright away and his postings removed.

It makes me sick to see something like this; I wasn't convinced by some of the posts, and Lee has finally proved it.

My Dad, who is 87, still suffers from the effects of his WW2 service in Italy - this little moron can't imagine for a second what men of his generation did, saw and suffered. It's an insult; I indeed hope he is banned.

Maybe he should come back, own up, apologize and then try and learn something.
If sapper , a real Veteran, wasn't too upset by it then maybe we shouldn't.
If he doesn't repent for his sins then ban him.

Why don't we PM him and ask him to admit it?
Oh I see he's not on the members list anymore, he must already be booted out.

I agreed with this initially and respected Sappers analogy of maybe a 10-12 year old however this "boy" has graduated college and seems old enough to be in "the service".

The "boy" I'm afraid will be "shrink" material sooner than later.

Anyone have any thoughts on what motivated him?

I am not a psycologist however I feel he did it to intentionally fool the forum members. He got his jollies everytime someone showed him some sort of reverence at being a living veteran of Normandy.

If he had a grandfather that actually served in ww2 "in the thick" he would be disgusted with his grandson.

Sorry if I upset anyone with my Cowboys and Indians. I have no idea what prompts a man to indulge in such fantasies?

Except to say he must be driven by some deep need to present himself as a Vet. Specially whem you consider the risk he takes of being ridiculed.

Though I fail to see what Kudos that gets him. No one treats me any different from anyone else.

I just feel sorry for him...For he must endure a lot through his need to look and act like a Veteran.

Is there not a thing called "Compulsive Behaviour?" Where the victim cannot help himself? Could just be one of those...Any way, I feel sorry for him. his life must be difficult. After all we do recognise alcoholics as suffering a disease.

Just a footnote..You would be surprised at how many people far from paying any respect for Veterans, are quite the opposite, and can be downright rude and agressive ....Seriously friends.

I hadn't clocked he wasn't a Vet, but as i usually ignored his posts some kind of alarm bell must have been ringing in my head. Thanks for the heads up Lee. Go on, post his email address so we can all spam him!
