  1. Could anyone provide any more information pertaining to any of the above please. All served with No.1690 B(D)TF at some point, and their service numbers were:

    F/O A.E. Gooch CAN J177868

    F/L J.H.W. LeBlond CAN J12560

    P/O J.G.A. MacKaskill CAN J86106
    F/O G.D. Tuck CAN J17304

I believe all may have been pilots......

    Any help or advice welcomed.

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Hello,

Your GD Tuck was George D. Tuck of Windsor, Ontario. He spent plenty of time in the media but even in his April 1978 obituary, it just gives "George D. Tuck". Possibly Donald. 5 February 1943, Windsor Star has story of him as Sgt Pilot, shot down in the desert by two Bf109s and walking 12 miles home. Squadron obviously not given.

Gooch's service number has too many digits. Ambrose Elliott Gooch of Hamilton, Ontario. Media reports have him with an "ASR squadron for 22 months, before joining "a bomber defence force, non operational". Deceased Toronto, date unknown.

J12560 Joseph Harry Wilfrid LeBlond. Previous NCO number R120820. Born Winnipeg 4 August 1921, deceased Chilliwack, British Columbia 27 November 1996. Architect post-war.

Nothing seems to be coming up on your MacKaskill. There was a Joseph Georges Alfred McAskill, born Montreal 1924 but nothing showing military service.

    Regards,

    Dave

Can I ask why it says " Default Default " in the thread title ?

I've now removed it, to make room for Tuck's surname.
