F/L Michael Henry Parson Baker 51901

  1. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with this query please?
I am trying to trace the movements of a pilot, F/L Michael Henry Parson Baker 51901., who served with No.630 Squadron during 1945. This Squadron’s ORB shows him as being posted out of the Squadron on its disbandment, but I can find no record of him being posted in, or of him flying any operations with it. I know that the ORB entry regarding his departure is correct, because the ORB for No.1690 B(D)TF records that he was posted into that unit (from No.630 Squadron) for flying duties on 26/07/1945 – just a few days after No.630 had disbanded.
Answers on a forum please - any help welcome. Cheers, Andrew

There is a Birth of a Michael Parsons Baker in 1888, which is either his father or he was a specialist in some form of RAF expertise to be wanted in 1940's....

If not a relative, what is your interest, that might develop some more info, especially on 1690 Bomber Defence Training Flight AFTER WW2 ...

  8. Thanks Kevin & Dave. My interest is actually in the whole history of No.1690 B(D)TF. I've found three entries in the LG pertaining to his wartime service, but hadn't got the one which seems to relate to his birth. The Barnet date seems about right, as this would mean he would have been in his early twenties when commissioned as a P/O. Thanks for these clues - I will keep on researching. Thanks again to both of you. Andrew
