A couple of typos on this one – I don’t have the photo but I can chase it down this week. Toowong Cemetery is a bit difficult to get into at the moment; they are digging a huge tunnel under it for a new expressway (Legacy Way). Some of the entrances are closed off as part of the construction work.

I will add her photo to this post shortly.

Spidge – I can’t locate her name on any of the lists, is late 1947 beyond the cutoff??

Brisbane General Cemetery QUEENSLAND (Toowong Cemetery)

    DAVIS, Dorothy, F. - Port 7A. Sec.1946. Allot.8 - should be Davies, Dorothy Frances (7A 194B 8)

Aircraftwoman DAVIES, DOROTHY FRANCES 100629 RAAF / WAAAF of 8 Service Flying Training School - discharged 13 Oct 1944 / died 26 Nov 1947

December 1947 is the cut off however the time between discharge and death might be the problem.

Sorry for the typo; however I do not have any further details but is it possible that she sustained an injury on duty causing her to be discharged from which she subsequently died? Just a thought?

Rothery, Elizabeth. (Staff Nurse - AANS)

No headstone at Beechworth Cemetery however there is a plaque in a Garden of Remembrance which is presumably at Springvale where I have a number to photograph for myself in the next few weeks.

    Cheers
