    Hi Guys,
I'm adding to some earlier research on my Grandfather, who, I believe served in the Home Guard during WW2. He lived in Blackshots Lane, Grays.
Would anyone be able to tell me which actual units of Home Guard operated in Grays and if there are records available detailing actual members.

    Regards

    Ross Bannister

Try to find contact details for the Essex Regiment Association at Warley (I can't lay my hands on them right now) next door to the Regimental Chapel. I'm told they are quite helpful.

There may also be a local museum that could help.

There is also a book Warmen Courageous, the story of the Essex Home Guard by Peter Finch.
