Today, I Escaped from work for a fascinating 2 hour lunch and Evaded the bill when Randy graciously paid the entire tab. My Reward was a copy of Escape, Evasion and Revenge, personally signed by Marc Stevens. Marc had difficulty getting through a delicious steak while we kept him talking. He described his father's life and his own 18 year journey to research the facts and write the amazing account. Ian Fleming would have been hard pressed to conjure up a fictional plot to match Marc's true story. Thanks to Randy for arranging a delightful meeting and to Marc for a remarkable book. I could have stayed all afternoon. We are definitely going to do this again.
Tim, Here's to the perseverance of Marc to research the amazing story. Can't wait for next meeting. Cheers Randy
Many thanks for the kind words (and delicious steak!), gents. Next time, it'll be my treat, and that way I can be sure to have enough time to eat it all! Seriously, thanks for your interest in my father's story. Marc
It sounds like a great day was had by all. Book signing as well, what a lucky man!! Marc, if you ever get over to Berlin be sure to let me know. Regards Tom
I'm very pleased to advise that Escape, Evasion and Revenge is now available in both Kobo and Nook format.
Nice article in today's Toronto Globe and Mail War hero, spy and fugitive Jewish German: A man’s search for his father’s past
Wow, that is quite fantastic! Thanks for sharing the link to the article, canuck. I've requested the book from the TPL.
Marc was once quite active on this forum. Mostly on the POW threads. The book is an excellent read. He travels a lot but when we last spoke he was working on a screenplay. That after getting some very good press in the UK.
