Ah...School Boy error. I'm looking at my Commando files rather than Royal Marine - Things were so much simpler in 1940
Well I've just looked through 18 pages of admin orders for unit moves in April and he's not listed which makes this the wrong unit too ! It must be this diary which I don't have unfortunately: ADM 202/123 30th Battalion, Royal Marines Jan-May 1945 http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C2954455 Back under my 1940 rock for me
Hi Ronny On further searching Ernest may have had a brother Charles, so there is more possibilities there for you in your quest TD
Ha, Copied it today. I noticed Cooper is in a list on the first page as missing on the 23rd April and in the actual diary section it states 35 to 45 men missing on the 23rd April which I think may cause you some problems. Do you have the patrol reports in the back of the diary as well? I've not looked at them yet but it looks like there's one for every day of the month. Cheers Andy
Hi Andy, I do have the WD of April 1945 but not all the appendices. On which page stands that Cooper is missing? Could you send that to me? As of today E.W.Cooper is the only marine MIA of the 30 RM. I do not have the patrol reports but would like to have them.
You also have this guy missing on the same day from the same unit? http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2482075/JOHNSON,%20GEOFFREY%20ALBERT
