    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has come across this designation - how would I translate this position into plain English? It's clear from the context (which I will describe) that this was a (CR)EME representative working with the RA but I am at a bit of a loss of how to describe it.

The context is re some Canadian Archers which had 17-pounder guns which recoiled an extra 3.5". One memo I have about this has the following header and signature:

    (Header)
    "EME/9-1-0
HQ RCA 1 Cdn Inf Div
    28 Apr 1945"

    (Signature)
    "Signed (AJG Leighton) Capt
    EMERA 1 Cdn Inf Div"

    Hello Chris,

The Royal Artillery Glossary of Terms and Abbreviations defines EMERA as "Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Officer Royal Artillery".
