emails / 4 letter story

    I have this morning received two emails stating that Spidge has posted new messages on the 4 letter word story, each mail also gives the message he has posted, not happened before. Is anyone else recieving this mail?

    I've not seen these at all. I'm sure Spidge wouldn't post 'messages' in the story thread. Can one of you please forward copies of the mails to either myself or one of the other Mods?

    I have asked Lee to investigate why I have not been receiving instant mail notifications.

    Maybe this could have something to do with it???

    Just looked into it and sent Kitty an email of one I received. Checked my options on here and found that I was somehow subscribed to two threads. Have unsubcribed myself.

    Noticed this morning that people are being automatically subscribed to threads they posted in.

    whoops.:D

    You can turn off this 'default subscribe' mode in your User CP>Options.

    Could I cheerfully suggest that people set up a 'dump' email adress at somewhere like hotmail (dead easy) for signing onto forums/mailing lists/general 'web' use, & check it every now and then for anything useful... I did this when I first got the internet years ago and have never had any spam in my 'proper' email adress. Ever.

    Still receiving emails from 4 letter word story even though I've unsubscribed as suggested. Six today.

    It seems there is a slight problem. I think we have Gremlins, so everyone put a glass of whisky beside your computer to keep them occupied while us Mods pass it all on to Lee.

    Apologies, my fault! I set it up for Spidge but accidentally set auto subscription for everyone, I have reversed this so no more should come out.

    Those who do want it can do so via the usercp area.

    Lee,
    I'm still receiving emails stating that a person has posted in one or more of my threads. I have unsubscribed using user CP as before, but it seems to automatically reinstate the system. Just like to point out that I have never subscribed to receive these mails. Can you correct this hiccup?
