    Hallo all

Please forgive my ignorance, but from chatting with my Uncle last night I found out a few more 'tidbits' spoken by my grandad about his time in 8th
Army (Queen's Bn, 131 Lorried Infantry).

Speaking of the Battle of El Alamein:

"There was one night, during the Battle, it was like Hell's Cauldron - but this time the lid was off. The artillery bombardment was so severe that you prayed for the next one to hit you and so end the nightmare. Body parts being flung into your foxhole by explosions hitting the foxhole or slit-trench next to you.."

Any pals with knowledge of the Battle know which night this may have been and what happened next?

    Kind regards
