A friendly reminder to all, but especially to our newer members that the title can be amended even after posting a thread.

This is especially handy for attracting attention from those most able to help or advise or, in order to ask for more help if a thread has lain dormant for a while, (instead of creating a new thread or just bumping, why not add eg Still seeking info).

The more specific the title the better really. We might all want 'help with research' at some stage, so state your case as succinctly as possible please: eg if for an individual add name, branch/nationality. That way the right reply might come along much quicker.

Also, a more relevant title certainly helps when searching through older threads for information.

    Thanks and good luck.

I have put up two threads under General that show copies of brief History Cards which I have produced on the computer about the 8th and 7th/9th Battalions The Royal Scots. These are primarily to send to relatives seeking to know about the service of a family member and are enclosed along with personal information.

Should they be shown under a different Thread heading?

It is a most useful and valuable site and have appreciated the opportunity to link into so many aspects of ww2 and to have made such excellent contacts.

    Kind regards,

    Joe Brown

Don't worry about it, Joe, we move stuff about when we spot it, not really a massive issue but it does keep things neater and a bit easier to find when things are in an appropriate area.

If you think they should be in a different forum section, just ask and we'll get 'em shifted. 'Searching for someone' or 'Allied units' might mean they're less likely to get buried - 'general' is a big old area.
