    Hi Michael,
    He was killed at the Battle of Sedjenane 16th DLI`s bloody baptisim the first date will be the last day he was seen alive the last his confirmation of death (Presumed) I was told by an old soldier many years ago that the local tribesmen stripped the bodies of the dead DLI and hampered their identification (Cannot confirm it) hence so many on the memorial.

    Have also noticed in my pictures of workington grave stones i have a fusilier from the 2nd bn,lancashire fusiliers who also died 26 february 1943 and buried in the same cemetery MEDJZ-EL-BAB was it a major battle when these chaps died

    Thanks for those Clive, Draper is ex-Reconnaissance Corps and for some reason does not feature under either Regiment in Roll of Honour British Land Forces WW2 (Vol 6) although he is obviously on the CWGC roll.
