Hi there, I'm just doing some research for a shot list that I am putting together for a documentary on WW2 Poetry. We would want to do some filming in and around Dunkirk. Just wondering if the harbour layout is the same as it was in 1940 during the evacuations, and where I can find East mole today as that seems to be an important site for most of the evacuations. Thank you so much George
Compare the 'east pier' / east mole on these diagrams with the aerial view on Google Maps. http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/21822-the-crested-eagle-and-devonia-dunkirks-1940-ship-wrecks/?p=264994 http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/UN/UK/UK-NWE-Flanders/maps/UK-NWE-Flanders-xiii.jpg https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=dunkirk&hl=en&ll=51.052726,2.365022&spn=0.016456,0.027595&hnear=Dunkirk,+Nord,+Nord-Pas-de-Calais,+France&t=h&z=15

Lots of pictures in my Walking in the Footsteps of the BEF thread to do with evacuation points on the beaches, mole and inner harbour including some then and now pictures. The mole was destroyed in a storm after the war and was replaced with a concrete one.
Dear All Thank you for responses. I now have a much better idea of what I hope to film. Drew, I will look of you Walking in the Footsteps thread... Thank you so much George
