Is this the same barge from the other side?
Its the same Barge but looks to have moved a bit with the tide.
You can see the 'pickets' and Bren Carriers in both pictures. The tide has moved her north along the beach.

The former reads:
"So sah die erfolgreiche
Rückzugstraße der Englan-
der bei Dünkirchen aus."
(So looked the street of
the successful retreat of the English
The latter says:
"So sah es überall am Strand
von Dünkirchen aus."
(So looked it all over the beach
Both pics seem to have been signed by the same man. The handwriting is very similar. The name "Dunkirchen" looks like a facsimile copy on both pics. And the reversed word order was used in both cases.
The two photos came from the same seller .
It says Dunkirk on the back of the photo but not sure ? Could be the oil tanks on fire? Anyone ID the photo area.

First time i have seen a close up of a bus as part of a pier and the use of a handrail.
