Hi Keith - I think this looks like the shield and cross of 52nd Lowland Division. Is there an embarkation code on the other mudguard?

    Cheers, Nick

Indeed, the 'handle' of the keys was downwards and is usually visible. 52 Div. were also the most likely not to have overpainted the Embarkation serial.

Going back to to the bus post 318.
Not so sure Unic made many right hand drive buses :)
There is a thread somewhere on here about BEF buses.

This looks like the Westouter location based on the buildings....

The one labeled Locre might have been miss labeled by the German photographer, the buildings, utility poll and vehicle and gun details seem to match Keith's photo and the others...

On 24th/25th May 1940 SS Germania Regiment attacked at St Floris and the following day at Robecq . The Germans advanced on the town with their armour, their transport crossing the canal close to the present RWF Memorial in St Venant . Photographs below show a Panzer MkII in the town Square of St Venant at the end of the battle, RWF and DLI P,o.Ws and Casualties (Army Panzer troops) . The Prisoners would spend the war in a PoW Camp. (Source RWF and French news source)

This bus has been identified as a UK built AEC Regal registered FW 8632 which had been new to operator "Enterprise & Dawn" and which was relatively used when brought into military service.
