Not sure which forum heading to post this under? I am sure it will be moved to a more suitable forum if necessary.

I am searching for a photo of Dr Hans Kapfer. I have searched the web, there is plenty about him, but no photo!

Maybe one of our Austrian members can come up with something? I would prefer to have a photo to fit in with some research I am doing.

This article will give you some back ground to the story:

Eighteen former Austrian S.S. and Gestapo
officials who were released last year from Russian
prison camps were arrested in Vienna and charged
with having taken part in massacres in Poland at
which several hundred Jews were killed. In reply
to attacks in the pro-Nazi press, the Austrian
Minister of Justice, Dr. Kapfer, pointed out that
the men had been accused of atrocities against Jews
    in the ghettoes of Kolomea, Stryj, and Borislav ;
they are alleged to have driven a large number,
including old men, women, and children, on to a
public square, forced them to undress, and dragged
them away info already prepared pits where all
were shot. Should these charges be proved. Dr.
Kapfer said, the accused would be liable to Ijfe
    imprisonment.
Referring to the case of Johann Sanitzer, a
Gestapo inspector, who had been sentenced fo
life imprisonment by an Austrian court. Dr.
Kapfer said that he was guilty of ill-treatment but
not of any killings, and he had therefore been
conditionally released after nine years in prison,
including six in Russia. Should fresh evidence
submitted hy organisations of former concentration
camp inmates indicate that Sanitzer had also
been guilty of killings, then he would be
    re-arrested. Dr. Kapfer stated.

    Thanks inanticipation!
    Alan
