Dover - Marine Parade - Channel Dash Memorial.

I took most of these from my cab window, it was hissing down with rain, and the wind could almost blow you over. So the best that I could do at the time. All taken 09-01-18.

 

Channel Dash heroes remembered in Dover ceremony

 

Lt Cdr Eugene Esmonde was awarded posthumous VC for leading 825 Naval Air Squadron in this attack. He had previously been awarded a DSO for leading the same Squadron in an attack on the Bismark.
