Hi all, Just became aware of an author and veteran named Douglas Arthur who wrote (at least?) two books. Desert Watch is about his experience as a portee driver in Operation Compass leading to Beda Fomm. And he has at least one other called Forty Men, Eight Horses. I think they might cover his experience as a POW in Germany. Comments or mini reviews appreciated.
Fascinating find. I've done some digging and both are available in relatively cheap Kindle versions. In physical editions almost impossible to find. The second book seems to cover his time in Greece, capture and then POW in Germany. Going to keep an eye out for the first one though. Thanks for sharing.
I think the Kindle editions are cheap enough that I will probably spring for "Desert Watch" sight unseen, but it would be even better to read someone's opinion first.
