My research has got so badly backed-up but I probably need to get the 14th's diaries for June and July 1944... dotting and crossing stuff... if no one has them I may need to send some business Drew's way...
Hi HC, hope all is well. Good to hear from you. I was going to ask you if you had these!! Amongst others.
Nope, hence asking... just getting deeper and deeper in the mire... the divine comedy was factual... give up all hope... Good here, though somewhat soggy today... Hope all's well down in the B43 household too and love to all the fam...
Just bouncing this back up... as you may guess, research has been going very slowly here... may have to pay for some one to copy these off... all I need is May to July, probably only June/July... They took command of the sick and wounded left round the northern end of Lake Indawgyi towards the end of the Chindit campaign... it's just dotting and crossing stuff, but you never know... For that matter, are The National Archives even "open"...? And does anyone have any idea of the size of these files...?
Have you asked Gary Tankard http://ww2talk.com/index.php?members/gary-tankard.68375/ he goes to the NA from time to time, maybe worth asking him to copy those diaries Lesley
Got side-tracked by events over the weekend, me Ol' China...! Dragged out to the cinema for two (no vintage-ish) films, not one, and a meal in between on Saturday and gifted a flying lesson on Sunday by an old friend I worked with at BA... Had a look through what I could and already found a few snippets...! Most Gracias...
Saturday, believe it or not...! Here was me, pawing through the minutiae, being hustled out the door... things to do... lol Sunday... Those magnificent men in their flying machines... trundled off out to the runway and even handled the take-off... and a landing touch-and-go... lol
