In researching my family it appears the above was awarded the DFC possibly with a bar, I have tried the London Gazette (online version) and this seems to confirm its award but not when and I can't find a citation.
Any ideas or help would be great.
    Regards

the DFC was only awarded to WO(mainly immediate awards) and above not to F/Sgt.

    Hi,
1 June 1944 is the date Norman is listed as being promoted to Flt Sgt, this being in the Supplement to the LG 25th July 1944. He is later listed as a Flight Lt with a DFC, so trying to track down when and then hopefully why he got DFC.
    Thanks for looking.

    Hi

Try searching the LG with 177634. This will show his DFC as P/O. with 35 Sqn on 21/9/45 but without Citation unfortunately. Kew is about the only place you may find it.

    Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion, any ideas/references for the files at Kew?

    Hi Ali

Recommendations, are I believe held in Air/2 but are not indexed and thus hard to find so I'm told. I have no personal experience chasing these.

    Cheers
