I spent an hour or so looking around the various exhibits at the above event on Sunday afternoon.

Good stuff Nick, seems these days one can just shake a tree and a selection of nicely presented WW2 vehicles fall out of it. The UK appears to be leading the field of late.

Brief note of pedantry  - this still bugs me slightly. We've seen it at a show or two as well, and I don't really get the desire to display it as a WW2 vehicle. Nothing whatsoever wrong with being a Unimog, lovely thing, but I'd personally rather not see it in time-travelling disguise. Entirely up to the owner though, and I'm probably just jealous ;).
Bit like painting a Champ, Land Rover, or Gama Goat up with WW2 markings...

Thanks for confirming my suspicion, exactly why I posted the photo not being an expert when it comes to vehicles.

    Cheers

Hi folks glad you enjoyed the event nick! This event was organised by me and my father. The dig for victory weekend is taking place again this year on the 21st and 22nd of August.
We have now formed a small event commitee so things should be better this year we are also have a 1940s dance in the near by town of melksham.
Our website for the event should be up and running soon so i will post details in a few days.

    Cheers Rowan

Is this happening this year? Or in the future? I went to this back in 2007 and 2008 but then I moved to London so haven't been able to go to anything out in the wild West. Met some great people there.
