I note on a memorial scroll a Private W Davies served in the CMP (TG) as a Private. I presume CMP is the Corps Military Police can someone please tell me what (TG) stands for.
    Thanks

    Almost certainly TC, Traffic Control.

A good clue is that he was a private. Provost Companies did not have privates but Traffic Control and Vulnerable Point Companies did. TC personnel did not have full provost powers but were trained in traffic control. Many TC personnel were in fact civilian policemen, often over military age, drafted in for traffic control work.

'TG' may mean Training Group as it does in the Marines?
