many thanks just what we wanted to know, we have two of my Father-in-law's medals, Italy star and the 39-45 star but not the other two, would it be correct that the Africa Star would have the north Africa Bar/Clasp

    Hi,

It’s a shame that the Medal Office Stamp is not fully legible. The bottom reads MEDALS ISSUED and the Medal Office Clerk usually hand writes the number of Medals & Stars issued which should - but does not always - agrees with the hand written contemporaneous notes made on the file.

Your father in law would also have an entitlement to the 39/45 War Medal that is not recorded.

You may wish to reapply to MOD if that medal is not in your possession or simply buy one as the original medal is available online at a modest cost.
