I'd laugh if it wasn't so close to the truth!

Recently on a RAF reunion,it had previously arranged to be guests at one of our front line stations. The visit was cancelled at the last minute due to the fact, we were told, that the station manpower had been reduced by 70% due to overseas detachments and defence cut backs.

There was also some discussion on the state of the Royal Air Force and it was claimed by one of our group that the spares for Tornadoes was so acute that museum pieces were being checked for spares.A case of station guardians having the magic wand passed over them to creat hanger queens.

Well, well, well! Remember the story.Must balance the books.

74 Harriers, scrapped,to be sold off to anybody who would want a good deal.

I see that it has been announced that the US are going to buy them and intend to fly them until 2025.I can imagine that the US have a good deal with a discounted price.

Can't be THAT different from the version the Americans build and develop under licence in the U.S. for the Marine Corps.

Spare parts price has been agreed.... $50 million or £32 million.......just enough to cover MP's expenses over a parliament.

Very much an emotive subject. Analytical or emotional?? How would a Harrier do against a Rafale? I think I read somewhere that British troops in Afghanistan preferred US Air Strikes than Harrier force??
