    As did I, and a nice warm place to be it was, with near gale force winds this morning and the temperature at 30°F, harbingers of the coming winter.
    And there's Spidge, enjoying springtime down under.

    Agree. There's nothing like a New England winter. As a fellow Bay Stater, you must remember that record-setting winter a few years ago (6? 10? I lose track of time) when here in the central part of the state we had almost 11 feet of snow.

    Speaking of Maine, I visited there last month on vacation, and quite by accident happened upon the launch of a new Arleigh Burke class destroyer at the Bath Iron Works - the USS Sampson, DDG102 - and quite an impressive operation it was. If anyone is interested, I'll post photos, if not, not.
