On the east coast of Australia we are now GMT+11 as we have gone one hour forward to summer time.

    We've dropped back an hour...
    "Spring Forward.
    Fall Back."
Am I alone in thinking daylight saving is a bloody silly idea?

The British Isles had double summer time,ie GMT + 2 hours during the Second World War.

Extended summer days meant that it was light in June until 2300 hours.

Ideal for watching Bomber Command aircraft flying to their meeting points to take up their continental flight streams.

It isn't a daft idea, I got an extra hour in bed this morning...

As did I, and a nice warm place to be it was, with near gale force winds this morning and the temperature at 30°F, harbingers of the coming winter.
And there's Spidge, enjoying springtime down under.

I appreciated that extra hour what with having to get up for work. But get your thermals out boys, the weather is given to come in from the Arctic later in the week.

    She needs help.

Lee & Gnomey. I am a student in Buxton, the wettest coldest place on earth. I am walking around in a jumper whilst my scottish friends, even the one from the north coast of Scotland are complaining at how bloody cold it is and wearing so many layers they look like the michelin man.

So sunbathing in 6 foot of snow isn't a good idea?

Now this is important. Should I wear pink socks or big blue woolly ones?
