Can anyone provide a map reference location for "Dawson's Ridge." I have failed to find a map that shows its location.

    Hello roccowwii.

"Dawson's Ridge"; the stretch of high ground between between Verlautenheide and Eilendorf, just to the north-east of Aachen.

Words and then maps, courtesy of "Siegfreid Line Campaign" by Charles B MacDonald, 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition.

Good luck with your research, I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Kind regards, always,

    Jim.

Two maps, and close-ups of pertinent sections (four images in all). There will be maps from the time in September/October 1944 somewhere to be found.

Letters written at the time by Captain Dawson can be found here (link below) They are well worth the reading if you have not seen them before (just click on the link and scroll down the page to the four "Aachen" letters written in September/October 1944).

They are a window into those times.

Many thanks for the reply and screenshots. And, yes, I have read the Dawson letters. Powerful.
