DARNYTSIA POW CAMP IN KYIV: 1941-1943

The history of one of the deadliest Nazi camps for Soviet prisoners of war remains mainly unknown in the Western world, even among WW2 enthusiasts. Up to 300,000 people, primarily Red Army POWs, but also civilians, passed through a spot of land just 1 square kilometer in size, of which around 70,000 perished here in just two years between September 1941 and September 1943. As a Ukrainian and a frequent visitor to Kyiv, I have always wanted to research and share this story with audiences outside Ukraine. I visited the site several times, researched libraries and archives, found every existing source related to the Darnytsia camp, and compiled it into a 15,000-word article with 50+ archival photos, most of which had never been published before.

I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this material, as it was both challenging and exciting to write for several months.
