New to all of this, searching the internet and stumbled on this site. I have received my dad’s service records from the Royal Navy but I can’t trace anything on the web. He was on LCT’s in WW2, but doesn’t say where he was just dates. Any help would be greatly appreciated and maybe move me forward. I could upload the records if that may help. Thanks again Paul.
Hi Paul The obvious response to you is to post up his service records so that members can see them and help you answers some questions hopefully Make sure they are orientated - I have a problem standing on my head - and probably in .jpeg format which should mean we can zoom in and out to see better details TD
It’s LCT 1075 and LCT 7119. I can’t find anything on the net regarding where these vessels were. Many thanks again.

I have “limited” GREEN LISTS (most of mine are in 1944, Force “J”), so you may have to search more lists but I did find LCT 1075 on one list, shown below: Also, the “C” in that Status, means it was under repairs, see chart below
Follow up, I did find 603 Flotilla (on your list).......I note it was to operate LCM’s, but a unit had not been assigned or any LCM numbers on this list:
Follow up on 603 Flotilla.......found their Station and LCM Allocation......but he was with this unit from Dec 43 to Feb 44......but this gives you an idea of the LCM’s they would have been operating HMS Dragonfly Function Combined Operations "Suspense" Base. Address and commissioning history South Hayling Island, Hampshire, England. Commissioned 7/6/43 and paid off 15/1/46. Other information Later became a Landing Barge Base and a Mobile Landing Craft Advanced Base (MOLCAB) assembly point. MOLCAB facilities were quickly established according to need on suitable sites. They provided accommodation for personnel and the maintenance and first aid repairs of hulls, machinery and armament of landing craft. The total strength of a typical MOLCAB was 36 officers and 374 other ranks, of which the major proportion were Royal Marines, under a Royal Marine Commanding Officer.
Assume this is your relation They Also Served Dobby H B. Ser No JX355746. RN Attached to Combined Ops. LCT 1075 March 44 Dec 44. TD This video gives an idea what he went through and what an LCT was/did - Maybe contact Home (National Museum of Royal Navy)to see if they have any details etc
