    Dad's Army ?....... I love it !

Watching it is like putting on an old pair of comfortable shoes and I've yet to see a bad episode.

The fact that Clive Dunn of "They don't like it uppem!" fame was also in the 4th QOH doesn't spoil it for me either :)

Dads Army is just as good viewing today as it was when first aired.

A great cast that was always fun and entertaining to watch.

    Great fun.

Yes, it was pretty good. Also liked the programme afterwards about the making of it. That toast at the end of the final programme was quite something.

I think it was a repeat mate, but I hadn't seen it before.

I had to suffer X-Factor for my daughter tonight!!

    X-Factor , bad , very bad.
( Only good part are the first few shows - the real entertainment is there - the folks who think they can sing !)

Dad's Army will endure for years to come - the cast are sterotypes of what we see society of that time as being .
The relationships between Jones ( NCO) and the pompus bank manager who is a mass of compensation mechanisms and social / class vunerabilities , Wilson who suffers and says nothing , Pike - who must be his son ( well we all know he is but nothiong is ever confirmed) , Godfrey - an older Wilson - Walker the link between them all , Frazer the dry acid cranky old Scotsman - the clergy of the town so well cast and Hobbs the HG hating ARP man - the balance is just so right it can't go wrong .

Was there ever a bad episode ?
I can't really think of one.

The "Deadly Attachment" and "Sons of the Sea" I could watch time and time again - I can't honestly think of a poor show.
Yet I cannot think of the last episode not off the top of my head.

Along with Fawlty Towers "Allo, Allo" and Fools and Horses - Dad's Army will never really go past its sell by date.
( "The Bucket Woman" also deserves mention).
A few years ago my eldest girl gave me a guide to Dad's Army - full of some great info on the crew , the cast and the series .

Quite brilliant I thought, genuinely strong stuff that placed the entire run as a solid and affectionate tribute to the HG.

By the way... I take notes of mentions of 'X-F*ctor', I believe too many uses can actually provide solid grounds for a ban :D.

However, Arnold Ridley, the actor who played Godfrey, experienced hand-to-hand fighting in the trenches of the First World War, it can be disclosed.

I have to admit I've never been a fan of Dad's Army, give me Allo Allo for WWII comedy.

How did this appear for my vote..karma telling me its time i started shouting at the youth of today..dont panic..dont panic..now that with doomed doomed were all doomed has to be the motto of all brit servicemen no matter when they served... My other vote goes to Get Some In...its time for national service lads...now isnt that a sin...theres only one way to get out.. and thats to get some in..get some in...
