    Hi all,

I've been researching Operation Market Garden for a few months now. I recently passed my grandads detailed account to the great Pegasus Archive. Staff-Sergeant John Smith

What I think is particularly interesting about his account is that it links directly to a Gunners story, who describes what happened on landing.
    Gunner George Durant

Through that I was able to find a good amount about the gunners in his glider and I believe it was Troop Sergeant Major A. E. Reed, with 2 or 3 others. In the tail, Gunner George Edwin Durant (14284494), Gunner Aubrey 'Archie' Pitt (993998) and Wireless Operator 'Bob' Dixon. I've also traced his journey and believe they followed 'tiger route' to the HQ as he seems to perfectly describe the corpse of General Kussin.

He also mentions plenty of names of other pilots and it's sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole to find out their stories too and I'm also really interested to see if there are any more testimonies or even photos out there.

I'm not a facebook user and know there are some good groups. But this forum looks like a wonderful resource to try and ask for about information about 'D Squadron' or '21 Flight' in general. And these names in particular.

    D Squadron
    Captain F H 'Bull' Barclay
    S/Sgt Leonard. J. Gardner
    Sgt R. A. Fraser
    George Morrow
    Leslie Smith 008
    Major Royle
    Sgt Green
    S/Sgt Stevenson
Sgt Leonard Overton 3779157 (requested his file scanned from the Cornelius Ryan collection and have that now)

Would love to hear anything of interest.

    Cheers,
    Rob
