I bet they are pretty sick of answering phone enquiries from pennyless dreamers!

I can now understand your fascination for Tanks, etc. I personally have never really been interested about anything mechanical.

Having watched a couple of reruns of a series the last few days on UKTV History, about the rebuilding of WW2 tanks. I was glued to the set and thoroughly enjoyed watching the rebuilding of a Sherman and an M18 Hellfire (not technically a tank, I know but a Tank Destroyer). In the 2nd show, they actually found the original American commander of the M18 and he was like a big kid, telling the driver to go faster. Brilliant.

    I am now a convert.

Very glad to hear it robert!
Welcome to the path of righteousness :D.

I was watching that old chap in the M18 myself today (again), truly splendid bit of TV.
We had a little thread when Tank Overhaul was first shown: Here.

It certainly made his day being back on top. I liked his description of the crack as live rounds passed close by. The speed of that thing was something else. Being lightly armoured, I suppose that all they had to rely on.

Halftrack M3A1 - Armour and Tracked Military Vehicles - MILWEB CLASSIFIEDS

A Marmon-Herrington for 12,000 Euros seems almost reasonable, especially compared to the M16 at over 20,000 Euros!

Once saw a similar type for sale at Beltring - the only MV the other half has ever shown a real interest in... she liked the large map pockets.

    Anyone for Honey?
    16 Stuarts imported from Brazil.
    5XM3s, 11Xm3a1s:
    M3A1 Stuart tanks
Bodes well for a Beltring treat, they don't look in too bad condition at all.

Intriguing talk on HMVF that two or three reasonably complete Schwimmwagens also came over with the Stuarts.
    Looking for more evidence.

We've seen that Egyptian SU100 rumbling about at Tankfest, but I don't recall a 152.
Look forward to seeing that one day.

The Shadock has a very sparse list of 152 survivors:
    http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_KV_series.pdf
Surely there are more than that?

I don't think I've ever seen a 152 in the flesh. Like you, I was surprised at how few are recorded as survivors. I think range-hulks in former Warsaw Pact countries are vastly under-reported: certainly there appear to be many T34/T55s scattered about in various states of distress. Perhaps there might be some 152s lurking in the birch-woods quietly rotting away...
