Not surprising is it, many of them play in top class teams outside their own country Its a damn good side. Certainly not a side that can be taken as an "easy game" They are capable of knocking any team over.
Holland going pretty well, batting first against England in their first World Cup match. South Africa "C" going pretty well, batting first against South Africa "B" in their first World Cup match Go Holland So much for Ponting's comments about not letting the small guys play. Brilliant stuff from ten Doeschate
75 years I have been a cricket fan. I have never witnessed such bloody awful shambles as I saw today from England. Dropped catches, sloppy fielding, Bowlers with No idea of direction or length. Time to have clear out? , For this was a shameful performance, worthy only of some village side playing at its worst ....Shameful and disgusting, An undisciplined rabble. Win the Cup you must be joking!

Funny to know that our opening bowler, Westdijk, does not even play at the highest level in Dutch club cricket. Seelaar, our spinner, lives only 5 min from where I live. I have played him often when our youth teams met.
Typical KP dismissal - uppish cover drive off a left-armer. Silly shot to play in those circumstances, considering he and Strauss were really cruising. I agree with Sapper that this morning's fielding was dire, but live in hope that perhaps they've got all the cock-ups out of the way in one go ... My tip for the title is Sri Lanka: England will do well to reach the semis methinks. And will somebody please stop David Lloyd talking about bloody soap operas! We don't ****ing care, Bumble!!
I rather fancy the South Africans. They do have a real side of professionals. Disciplined and skillful. England? No! I lost all faith in their ability, they seem to have gone ""Over the top" and settled back into their old ways of bowling long hops, with a total inability to bowl at the bloody WICKET .....for heavens sake" What is it with the English? that they have this fixation with bowling balls the batsman is crying out for......The greatest run prevnter is to BOWL at the wicket...Always was, always will be. All the greatest bowlers we have had .. All of them had that ability to bowl straight.... OURS? A bloody shambles..Over paid and too damned comfortable. With the possible exception of Swan.

If you bowel at the wicket even leg stump Yorkers, surely any batsman can work the the ball anywhere he wants to on the leg side.
For every batsman there is one place that always bothers them . It is the ball on the off stump about 2" from the top. "The channel of uncertainty" Miss one? OUT! add the swing, or movement off the pitch.... to that channel and you have something damned hard to deal with. All the great bowlers knew and practiced it. But I am always keen on hearing other views, for it is a great game
I'd say that with the rise of reverse swing the best line to bowl these days is about 2-3" outside the off stump. Does the batsman play or leave? Here is a good example...
I like the Line Glenn McGrath used to bowel, outside the off stump but I think the thing that got batsman was the the bounce he got from just back of a length. I Think in the one day stuff now you really have to mix it up with the pace.
does anyone have the latest score between England and Ireland? I refuse to get wound up with that remark.
HI all Have to put this here - Ireland win by three wickets Kevin O'Brien has made history for Ireland. The dreams of 2007 have been eclipsed by this record chase, powered by a record hundred. England's bowling and fielding was shoddy again, but they were backed into a corner and knocked out by the hulking power of Kevin O'Brien. Group B has been smashed open with this result! They should play all matches in Bangalore, it has treated us to two of the best games of 50-over cricket you could ever wish to see. regards Robert
The captain ought to take each bowler by the hand, walk him up the wicket and point out this "You see those three bits of wood?" Well that is the wicket, What you should be aiming at Sadly they never listened with the result that they bowled a series of "Long Hops" the type of ball that batsman pray for.... We really should bring them home...In disgrace! We could then send our ladies team out to continue the fight. They are far more professiona, certainly better than that motley crew of big Girls Blouses...
